Morello Lake

Long the main road 121, in Palermo direction, one meets Villarosa, a small city built from the Duca Placido Notarbartolo on the ruins of a country house destroyed by the earthquake of 1693. The visit to Villarosa begins before arriving in the built-up area. On the state road, in fact, one meet on the left the shunting line for the railway station. It is worth the pain to turn and visit the small country station that, destined at the closing, has been instead skilfully transformed in a most particular railway and of the peasant civilization museum. Another shunting line, instead, leads until the Morello Lake, an artificial river basin, in which are made to flow the waters of the homonymous river. The Lake, there where it has taken possession of the artificial river basin, offers landscapes of remarkable naturalistic interest.
